Oktoberfest Wedding

I was asked to create a wedding invitation from Micah's 1st birthday invites. The RSVP postcard was added and I love it! It's always fun to do new work on old projects!

Spice Jars

Have you seen the fun hexagon spice jars like these?
Mom and I thought they were AWESOME so we ordered a ridiculous amount of jars and made our own. With the twist of etching the name of the spice on the side. We just have ours stored in a drawer for now- as our current kitchen setups have no good place for massive amounts of magnetized hexagons -but they still make me super happy to look at!

One little indian

Quite a long time ago I made these head dresses for the kids.... I had pinned inspiration pictures that originate from here. The kids are just starting to get into dress up now. So hopefully we will be using them for something other then shelf decoration soon. These were SO much fun to make!

Cat Bag

Next up in the bags for traveling kids series.... Kitty Cat pencil case. This was inspired by a pin I'd seen that led back to Tokyoinspired. This is our take on it. I love it a lot.

I made it with some gorgeous felt that I purchased in Germany from the loveliest little shop, which I am now kicking myself that I cannot remember the name.

It's unlined and except for the feet and buttons, the embellishing is by machine. Small pieces of wool for the stripes sewn on before assembling the front and back. Doing the nose and whiskers was fun. Scribbling with the machine might be something I should try more often.

Then Jessica said, "Wouldn't it be cute if it had a fish?"
So I did.
And it is.

If for some reason Miss Boo doesn't like this, I may be stealing it back....

Wally the Alligator

Did I ever mention that I did in fact finally get the Wally the Alligator pattern together?

Well just in case I didn't I wanted to be sure that I finally informed everyone.

He's a fun guy to sew up and that kids love to feed him their toys! Ours is currently holding some of the million balls that we own (how do they keep multiplying?!?!)

Shark Pencil Case

My grand littles were getting ready to embark on a trip. I started making silly things to occupy them. First up, a shark pencil case for the boy. The pattern is from here. It's free and fun!

The mouth zipper is the only fussy part of the pattern and I think it was worth the time it took to work with the small space and get it smooth. I did end up doing a bit of hand sewing.
I love making things for the kids. How about you? What's the silliest thing you've made?
